tel .: +375 (17) 209-51-98

Indications for use:

It is used for lavage (cleansing) of the intestines when preparing patients for endoscopic or X-ray examinations of the intestines, surgical interventions that require the absence of contents in the intestines

  • Homogeneous fine powder of white or yellowish-white color, moderately soluble in water
  • Pharmacotherapeutic group:
  • Laxatives with osmotic properties

Composition for 1 package:

polyethylene glycol 4000 - 12.8 g
potassium chloride - 0.15 g
sodium bicarbonate - 0.34 g
sodium sulfate anhydrous - 1.14 g
sodium chloride - 0.29 g

polyvinylpyrrolidone - 0.66 g
saccharin sodium (E 954) - 0.02 g

Pharmachologic effect:

It has a laxative effect, which is due to the properties of the components that make up it. Polyethylene glycol 4000 is a linear polymer that holds water molecules through hydrogen bonds. Due to this, the osmotic pressure and the volume of intestinal contents increase. Polyethylene glycol 4000 prevents the absorption of water from the stomach and intestines and promotes accelerated evacuation of intestinal contents. Inorganic salts prevent the imbalance of the body's water and electrolyte balance. Due to their high molecular weight, polyethylene glycol 4000 and polyvinylpyrrolidone are not absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and are not metabolized
