Patent of Belarus 30
Patent of Russia 205843

Purpose:
Protective functional nickel-boron coating may be deposited on the different metal substances such as copper, brass, beryllium bronze, steel, kovar, tungsten, aluminium and aluminium alloys etc. Technology of deposition of nickel–boron coatings is based on the electroplating of two–component alloys. Nickel–boron coating is characterized by low contact resistance, high microhardness and wear resistance, enhanced corrosion stability, solderability and ability of welding witch ultrasound.

Used In:

  • instrument-making
  • radio engineering
  • microelectronics

Polycrystalline coating Ni–B (1–6 at. % B) is used

  • for making printed circuit board (instead of the gold and palladium coatings or as the underlayer for very thin coatings of gold)
  • in production of contacts and contacting devices (instead of gold and silver coatings)

Amorphous coating Ni–B (16–25 at. % B) is used

  • for production of instruments (instead of chromium)
  • for fabrication of coolers used in the production of fiberglass
  • for production of cutting disks for processing raw diamond materials

the technology of electroplating of nickel–boron coating is material- and resource-saving

Advantages:

·         simple in exploitation and can be used for a long period of time in variable conditions
·         decrease of the production cost
·         allows deposition of amorphous alloys at low temperatures

 Technology was Implemented at:

  • Minsk Watch Plant  (Minsk), Zenith (Mogilev), Enef (Molodechno) for production of printed circuit boards;
  • Screen (Borisov), Electromechanical Plant  (Minsk), Mechanical Plant in the name of S.I.Vavilov (Minsk), Nomacon (Minsk) or production of contacts, contacting devices, instruments: etc.;
  • Crystal (Gomel) or production of cutting disks for processing raw diamond material;
  • Polotsk–Steklovolokno for coolers used in production of fiberglass.

 Forms of Cooperation: Selling of technology. Experimental researches according to contracts.
