Purpose:
The magnetic and non-magnetic powders are used for latent fingerprint detection on different surfaces.

Technical characteristics:
The powders are used for latent fingerprint detection on different surfaces.
Fluorescent fingerprint powders are used for fingerprint detection on any color substrates, they work especially well on dark and multicolored surfaces (bank papers, books, labels, pictures, etc.) The fluorescent fingerprint powders have given the chance to detect the fine details of fingerprints when illuminated with ultraviolet or visible light. For fingerprints detection it is necessary to treat surface by fluorescent powders according to standard criminalistic methods, to illuminate one by ultraviolet or visible light and to photograph the latent fingerprints detected.  The green fluorescence is excited by ultraviolet, the red fluorescence is excited by visual light (440-460 nm). There is a need to use the orange filter when excitation by visual light is used. The fluorescent fingerprint powders are completed with light sources produced by “Regula Company” (Belarus).

The powders were elaborated with participation of the State Expert & Forensic Science Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus
